Short answer: Hyatt does not publish one check-in age
The Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach FAQ states: “Generally, the minimum age to reserve a guestroom at Hyatt is 21 years old. However, this age may vary by hotel. Please check the specific policy of the hotel you plan to visit. A person of the minimum age requirement must be present at check-in and become a registered guest in the room.” In CheckInAge’s reviewed sample of 19 Hyatt-family hotels, 7 list a minimum age of 18 or lower and 12 list 21 or older.
Those counts describe this directory, not every Hyatt hotel. A listed age is not a room, and a completed reservation is not proof that the arriving guest meets the rule.
No Hyatt hotel was added on 21 October 2026. Every review date in this sample is 3 October 2026. Hyatt House has no record here.
Regency, Place, Centric and the other names in this sample

These records also store a condition, separate from the excerpt: Hyatt Grand Central New York — The official policy describes 18 as the minimum age to reserve. A person aged at least 18 must be present at check-in and become a registered guest in the room. Hyatt Place Portland Airport/Cascade Station — A guest meeting the minimum age must be present at check-in and registered in the room. Hyatt Regency Savannah — A guest meeting the minimum age must be present at check-in and registered in the room.
Use the exact hotel’s own hyatt.com policies or FAQ page. The Waikiki FAQ’s general sentence does not replace that page.
Match the full hotel name and street address. Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Grand Central, Caption by Hyatt and Destination by Hyatt are different hotels. This directory has no Hyatt House record.
Compare your age on the arrival date with the minimum on that hotel’s page. If the page is silent, ask the hotel before you pay.
The Waikiki FAQ says a person of the minimum age requirement must be present at check-in and become a registered guest in the room. Ask the hotel to confirm that for your stay.
Ask which photo ID is accepted and whose name must match the reservation.
Ask whose card must be presented, and whether a debit, prepaid or virtual card is accepted. Do not copy one hotel’s hold amount onto another.
If someone else is paying, ask whether that changes who may check in. Payment does not, by itself, lower the age.
Save the written answer and the cancellation deadline together.
Use the contact details on the exact property’s hyatt.com page. Replace the brackets. Do not send full card numbers or ID numbers in an ordinary email.
Hello, I will be [age] on [arrival date] and I want to stay at [full hotel name and street address] until [departure date]. Can I check in as the registered guest? Please confirm the minimum age, the photo ID you accept, whether my [credit or debit] card can be used for the room and any incidental hold, and the hold amount. The other guests will be [ages]. Please confirm the answer in writing before I book.
If the reply only says a room is available, ask again for the check-in age. Availability is not the same answer.
How this was checked
The 19 ages, excerpts, conditions and review dates are the catalogue records linked above. Those records were reviewed on 3 October 2026. The general age wording is quoted from the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach FAQ at the URL above. On 21 October 2026, hyatt.com did not return property pages for a new review, so this guide does not add a Hyatt hotel or replace those earlier records.
This was webpage and directory research, not a phone call, a stay or a front-desk test. Policies can change. Confirm the exact hotel before you pay. Sponsored rate links, when a page shows them, do not change the age result.
CheckInAge does not give legal advice and does not show live availability.
There is no single number. The Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach FAQ says: “Generally, the minimum age to reserve a guestroom at Hyatt is 21 years old. However, this age may vary by hotel. Please check the specific policy of the hotel you plan to visit. A person of the minimum age requirement must be present at check-in and become a registered guest in the room.” In CheckInAge’s reviewed sample, 7 of 19 Hyatt-family hotels list 18 or lower and 12 list 21 or older.
Do Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place and Hyatt Centric share one age?
No. In this sample, Hyatt Regency records are: Hyatt Regency Austin lists 18; Hyatt Regency Boston lists 21; Hyatt Regency Chicago lists 21; Hyatt Regency Houston West lists 18; Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport lists 18; Hyatt Regency Savannah lists 21. Hyatt Place records are: Hyatt Place Chicago/Downtown-The Loop lists 21; Hyatt Place Denver/Downtown lists 21; Hyatt Place Las Vegas lists 18; Hyatt Place Portland Airport/Cascade Station lists 21; Hyatt Place San Francisco / Downtown lists 21; Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown lists 21. Hyatt Centric records are: Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami lists 21; Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile lists 21; Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago lists 21; Hyatt Centric Times Square New York lists 18.
What about Hyatt House?
CheckInAge has no reviewed Hyatt House record. This guide does not state a Hyatt House check-in age.
Can I check into a Hyatt hotel at 18, 19 or 20?
Only where that property’s published minimum is no higher than your age on arrival, and only if you also meet its ID, payment and any extra condition. The Waikiki FAQ says a person of the minimum age must be present at check-in and become a registered guest. A reservation does not replace that hotel’s page.
What if the Hyatt page does not list an age?
Treat the check-in age as unknown. Open the exact hotel’s policies page, ask the hotel, and keep the written answer before you pay a nonrefundable rate.
