What a debit-card match means
Each hotel above expressly supports debit-card use for its arrival security or incidental hold. A general “accepts cards” statement does not qualify. You still need to meet the hotel’s age, ID, cardholder and other conditions.
This is a researched sample. An absent hotel may accept debit, but we have not confirmed it with current evidence. The hold can temporarily reduce your available bank balance; a room payment and an incidental hold are separate amounts.
Confirm the card and the hold before booking
Paying for a room with a debit card does not by itself confirm that the hotel accepts it for the security hold at check-in.
Ask whether your physical debit card is accepted for incidentals, and whether its name must match your ID.
Confirm the room balance, hold amount, nightly or per-stay basis, and any cap.
Ask when the hotel releases unused funds and how long your bank may take to make them available.
How many reviewed hotels take a debit card for the arrival hold?
18 hotels across 10 destinations currently have reviewed official evidence that a debit card can be used for the arrival hold.
Does a debit-card match approve every card and every guest?
No. The hotel still applies its age, photo ID and cardholder rules. A general statement that the hotel accepts cards is not counted as a debit-card match.
