Some U.S. hotels allow the primary arriving guest to check in at 18, while other properties require 21 or another age. A booking confirmation is not proof of check-in eligibility. Match your age on the arrival date to the current rule for the exact hotel and address before paying.

That evidence applies to this exact Pod Times Square property. It does not establish the rule at every Pod hotel, prove that a virtual or third-party card will work, or guarantee a room for a particular date.
Hotel Edison at 228 West 47th Street states a minimum check-in age of 18 with valid government-issued ID. Its official FAQ also requires a refundable credit-card deposit of $100 per day, capped at a maximum of $300 per stay.
Hotel Edison separately offers a credit-card authorization process when the payer will not be present. Do not assume that process covers the arrival deposit or changes the age rule; confirm which charges it authorizes and what the arriving guest must bring.
