Short answer: there is no single Best Western check-in age
Best Western does not publish one minimum check-in age for every hotel. As of October 20, 2026, use the number on the exact property page. In CheckInAge’s reviewed U.S. sample, 10 Best Western properties list 18 and 1 lists 21.
Those counts describe this directory, not every Best Western, SureStay or WorldHotels property. A listed age is not a room, and a completed reservation is not proof that the arriving guest meets the rule.
Best Western Rewards is a different rule. Its terms say you must be over 18, or the age of majority where you live, to be a member. Joining the program does not establish that you can check in.
Best Western’s company overview says each of its hotels is independently owned and operated. The official brands page names Best Western, Best Western Plus, Best Western Premier, Executive Residency by Best Western, Aiden by Best Western, Vīb, GLō, BW Signature Collection, BW Premier Collection, the WorldHotels Luxury, Elite, Distinctive and Crafted collections, and SureStay. The retrieved portfolio text does not give a check-in age for any of those names.
Best Western: the reviewed Best Western hotels in the table list 18. Best Western Orlando Gateway Hotel’s own FAQ says the minimum age to check in is 18.
Best Western Plus: Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town in San Diego lists 18. That page does not set the age for every Best Western Plus hotel.
SureStay: SureStay by Best Western Beverly Hills West LA lists 21. Its reviewed record also says guests aged 18 or older with active military ID are an exception. That does not set the age for every SureStay hotel.
Best Western Premier, Aiden, Vīb (Vib), GLō (GLo), WorldHotels, Executive Residency and the collection brands: no check-in age was in the retrieved brands text, and this directory has no reviewed property under those names.
The Best Western FAQ answer about children says children 12 and under stay free at any Best Western in North America, and that many North American hotels also let children 18 and under stay free. It tells readers to check the hotel’s information page. That is a child-stay rule, not a minimum age to register.
Where this directory has reviewed a property, the age belongs to that address only.
Reviewed Best Western properties and their listed ages
This is every Best Western property in the CheckInAge catalogue on October 20, 2026. Highlighted rows list a minimum of 18. The SureStay row lists 21 and is not highlighted. Each age comes from that hotel’s reviewed official page. The October 3, 2026 review is still inside its review window through November 2, 2026.
Reviewed Best Western properties. Highlighted rows list a minimum age of 18. A highlight does not remove an extra condition in the last column.
Active military ID at 18 or older is recorded as an exception to the 21 minimum.
Best Western Seven Seas lists 18 and adds a condition: all guests must live at least 35 miles from the hotel. Meeting the age does not remove that condition.
Open the hotel page for the source link, the evidence excerpt and the review date. A row here does not refresh that hotel’s record.
Orlando Gateway lists 18; the Beverly Hills SureStay lists 21
These two official sources show why the brand name is not enough. Both were matched to a street address. They are examples, not a list of every hotel that will accept a guest under 21.
Best Western Orlando Gateway Hotel, 7299 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819, says the minimum age to check in is 18, with government-issued photo identification and a credit card for payment and the incidental deposit. The same FAQ says the hotel does not accept cash at check-in. A guest can pay cash at checkout, but the full stay is charged to the credit card on arrival. The page lists the hotel’s phone as 407-351-5009. This FAQ was opened on October 20, 2026.
SureStay by Best Western Beverly Hills West LA, 7721 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90036, lists 21 in the CheckInAge record reviewed on October 3, 2026. The same record says guests aged 18 or older with active military ID are an exception. An 18-, 19- or 20-year-old without that exception should not treat this hotel as an age match.
Best Western Beachside Inn, 4500 Padre Boulevard, South Padre Island, Texas 78597, is a third reviewed example at 18. Its record quotes the property page: guests must be 18 or older, or 18 and older with active military ID, to check in. It also records valid ID and a $50 incidental hold. Do not copy that hold, or Orlando’s credit-card rule, onto another Best Western.
Meeting the minimum age does not settle identification or payment. Ask the exact property, and keep its answer with the reservation.
Photo ID: Orlando Gateway asks for government-issued photo identification. Beachside Inn’s record says valid ID is required. The other reviewed Best Western pages did not state an ID rule, so those fields stay unknown.
Card: Orlando Gateway requires a credit card for payment and the incidental deposit, and it does not accept cash at check-in. That sentence does not say a debit, prepaid or virtual card will work, and it does not apply to every Best Western.
Hold: Beachside Inn’s record describes a $50 incidental hold, released after checkout, which may take 7–10 business days. Orlando’s FAQ mentions an incidental deposit without a dollar amount. Do not budget $0, and do not reuse another hotel’s amount.
Call or write the hotel using the phone or address on its official page. Give your age on the arrival date, not the day you reserve.
Use the hotel’s own page and these checks before a nonrefundable rate. The illustration repeats the same sequence.
Match the full hotel name and street address. Best Western, Best Western Plus, Best Western Premier, SureStay, Aiden, Vīb, GLō and WorldHotels are different hotels.
Compare your age on arrival with that property’s current minimum. If the page is silent or two current statements disagree, ask the hotel before paying.
Read extra conditions. Seven Seas lists 18 and also requires guests to live at least 35 miles away. The Beverly Hills SureStay lists 21, with a military-ID exception in the reviewed record.
Confirm the photo ID, whose card must be presented, and the hold amount, including whether it is per night or per stay.
If a parent or someone else is paying, ask whether that changes who may check in. Payment does not, by itself, lower the age.
Save the reply and the cancellation deadline together.
Use the contact details on the exact property’s official page. Replace the brackets. Do not send full card numbers or ID numbers in an ordinary email.
Hello, I will be [age] on [arrival date] and I want to stay at [full hotel name and street address] until [departure date]. Can I check in as the registered guest? Please confirm the minimum age, any military-ID or distance condition, the photo ID you accept, whether my [credit or debit] card can be used for the room and the incidental hold, and the hold amount. The other guests will be [ages]. Please confirm the answer in writing before I book.
If the reply only says a room is available, ask again for the check-in age. Availability is not the same answer.
How this was checked
On October 20, 2026, the Orlando Gateway FAQ was opened in full and still stated a minimum check-in age of 18, with the ID and credit-card wording above. The Best Western Rewards terms were also read in full: the over-18 sentence applies to membership. Retrieved text from the Best Western FAQ, the brands portfolio and the company overview supplied the child-stay answer, the brand names and the statement that hotels are independently owned and operated. Those retrieved pages did not state a chain-wide check-in age.
The 11 property ages are the directory’s October 3, 2026 reviews of the official pages linked above. Those reviews remain inside their window through November 2, 2026. On October 20, bestwestern.com did not return the property pages to a direct fetch, so this guide does not replace that October 3 review with a new copy of every page.
This was webpage and directory research, not a phone call, a stay or a front-desk test. Policies can change. Confirm the exact hotel before you pay. Sponsored rate links, when a page shows them, do not change the age result.
CheckInAge does not give legal advice and does not show live availability.
There is no single brand-wide number. As of October 20, 2026, CheckInAge’s reviewed Best Western properties list 18, except SureStay by Best Western Beverly Hills West LA, which lists 21. Best Western Rewards requires members to be over 18, or the age of majority where they live. That is an account rule, not permission to check in.
Do Best Western Plus, Premier, SureStay, Aiden, Vib, GLo and WorldHotels share one age?
No shared check-in age was found. The official brands page names those brands and does not state a check-in age. In this directory, Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town lists 18, and SureStay by Best Western Beverly Hills West LA lists 21. Best Western Premier, Aiden, Vīb, GLō, WorldHotels and Executive Residency have no reviewed check-in age here.
Can I check into a Best Western hotel at 18, 19 or 20?
Only where that property’s published minimum is no higher than your age on arrival, and only if you also meet its ID, payment and extra conditions. Best Western Seven Seas lists 18 and also says all guests must live at least 35 miles from the hotel. The Beverly Hills SureStay lists 21, with a military-ID exception in the reviewed record.
What ID and card does Best Western require?
It depends on the hotel. Best Western Orlando Gateway Hotel’s FAQ requires government-issued photo ID and a credit card for payment and the incidental deposit, and it says cash is not accepted at check-in. Best Western Beachside Inn’s reviewed record requires valid ID and describes a $50 incidental hold. Other reviewed Best Western records do not state ID or card rules. A debit card is not assumed to work.
What if the Best Western page does not list an age?
Treat the check-in age as unknown. The brand FAQ tells readers to check the hotel’s own information page for its child-stay rule. Use that same step for check-in age, and contact the property before paying a nonrefundable rate.
Does an online booking or a parent paying lower the age?
No Best Western source reviewed for this guide says that a reservation or another person’s payment lowers the property’s minimum age. Ask the hotel who may check in, which ID is accepted, and whose card must be presented.
Use the current property source
Directory guidance cannot approve a guest or replace a hotel’s current terms. Match the exact property and confirm unresolved requirements before paying.
These are property rate links, not eligibility approvals. Check each property's age result and confirm photo ID, payment-card and deposit requirements before booking.
Booking links do not confirm check-in eligibility. Confirm age, ID, card and deposit requirements with the hotel.
Choose dates and occupancy on Expedia or Booking.com. CheckInAge does not display live room prices or availability. Affiliate links do not change policy results or the order of these properties.
