Hotel age rules: 18 versus 21
Why nearby hotels and hotels in the same brand can publish different minimum check-in ages.
There is no useful chain-wide shortcut
Minimum ages are commonly shown as property policies. Two hotels sharing a brand may list 18 and 21, so a brand promise should not replace exact-property evidence.
A higher minimum is still useful data
A 21+ listing is not a failed record. It prevents a traveller aged 18 to 20 from mistaking a nearby or similarly named property for a match.
Conditions need their own result
A documented companion, event or group condition should be shown as conditional. It should not be simplified into a green age match.
Rules can change
Use the source-review date and freshness label. For a future trip, confirm again near arrival, especially before a non-refundable booking.
Use the current property source
Directory guidance cannot approve a guest or replace a hotel’s current terms. Match the exact property and confirm unresolved requirements before paying.
