Hotel Resort and Destination Fees: What to Check

Check mandatory resort, destination and facility fees separately from room prices, deposits, parking and optional services.

Read the total for your exact stay

A room price alone does not answer what you will pay. Look for resort, destination, facility, amenity or urban fees in the hotel’s terms and checkout breakdown. Confirm whether a listed amount is per night, per stay or per room, and whether tax is included.

A refundable hold is a different amount

An arrival authorization can temporarily reduce the funds available on a card. A mandatory resort or destination fee is a charge. Do not add the same fee twice when a hotel’s authorization already includes it.

What “no resort fee” can and cannot tell you

CheckInAge only labels a hotel as having no resort fee when its exact official page explicitly says so. Silence is not a zero. A no-resort-fee statement does not promise free parking, breakfast, pets or optional amenities; check all other charges for your dates.

Ask what is included and what changes the price

Included services and exemptions can depend on the rate or reservation. Confirm the total directly before paying.

Compare only compatible amounts

Our extra-cost calculation appears only when current, confirmed fee and self-parking amounts both use a nightly basis and the same stated tax treatment. It excludes the room price and other charges. We do not divide an unknown-length per-stay fee into an invented nightly amount.

Use the current property source

Directory guidance cannot approve a guest or replace a hotel’s current terms. Match the exact property and confirm unresolved requirements before paying.
